Hi guys, I was finally approved! They called me today and said the agency just need to go get my file and call me to view... Hoping that happens soon... My present lease ends by the end of the month... Looking forward to move before then! Fingers crossed :-)

Congrats to all!!! I was excited after seeing the apartment and falling in love. I signed my lease last week Wednesday and was waiting for a phone call for a move in date. However, I got a call yesterday that an error was made and the apartment I signed the lease for is for NYCHA residents only. I now have to go there tomorrow and be shown another apartment and sign another lease. I knew that a 25% preference priority is given to NYCHA residents for apartments in the building but I've never heard that certain apts are designated for certain people. I thought all apartments had the same fixutures, flooring and finishes regardless of whether they're priced for low or moderate income residents. Makes me wonder. SMH!!!

That's very strange!! Not all apartments have the same fixtures because they have gave me a wheelchair accessible apartment when I don't even need one, the bathroom has no tub and there are cabinets missing from the kitchen..

Congrats .. Sorry that happen to you. I think all the fixtures are the same its just they had to pull some units aside for NYCHA people so that they can show the city that 25% of the apartment were awarded to NYCHA. I'm so excited I move in tomorrow
