BrooklynRed, Congrats! That's great. I'm really desperate. My lease is up at my place on Sunday so I'm moving in with my mom this weekend Pray for me. Lol I got a letter today that says if I wanna stay on the waiting list return the letter within 45 days. So, I'll be mailing that back tomorrow. Keep me posted.
I was selected too!!!! I logged on here to tell you to check and saw that you already had lol We really will be neighbors. Look at God. I called them in the morning after I saw and they told me to wait for a letter with information about what to do next. I'm checking my mailbox like crazy now between W-2's and this letter this is gonna be a good week LOL
It's so funny we have such similar situations down to our priority codes and salary. Lol I work for EZPASS though not the city. But it's so great how things are working out. I'll keep you updated
Haha girl God is good!
I am surprised we both received offers on the same day, I am guessing they had a few units that were set up to be vacant at the same time. This is wonderful!
I called them as soon as I saw my status change online lol, I didn't even have time to mail them back the first letter they sent me. So now we have to wait for that other letter and then we get to view our apartments! This is exciting.
Nope...it goes according to your income...type in google ... do 30% of your annual salary then divide by 12 months and there u go. it will have an idea. It maybe slightly off, but it will give u an idea of what it will be around.when i did it, mines was only off by 10 bucks.
Example....just type 30% of 26000=7800..then divide by 12 months the 7800.
I moved from my old place but I'm headed over there now to check the mail. Lol Would this letter update in the portal as well? Anyway I found this link about fixed rent rates for NYCHA I'll post it here. I don't know how accurate it is but if it is then I think rent will be between 700-800. Which is better than the 1250 I was paying alone with my daughter since my divorce. :-/
