You are very correct about that. But now when I see a homeless person begging instead of giving them change I want to spit in their face. What does that mean?
That you have anger issues and you'll end up being locked up for assaulting a homeless person. You do realize the random homeless person begging has nothing to do with decisions the government makes.
Homeless people meaning people who live in a shelter and work. They just currently don't have have their own apt.
You have to fit the income bracket to get in any of the apartments, whether 80/20, Mitchell llama, Low income housing(LAMP).
They aren't just picking up the man sleeping on the subway bench and bringing him to an apartment and saying here you go sir its all yours.
Or it could be homeless people who are living in a SRO and on disability, if the money they get from disability and any housing voucher falls within the income bracket.
But the number of units supplied by the 80/20 system is just a drop in the bucket of what's needed.
Then lets make it 60/40.
There are brand new buildings that are going up that are all low income buildings (LAMP). Not as fancy as they high end lux buildings but new and affordable.

Even that's a drop in the bucket. You have many more working class people than you do people who can afford luxury housing. Working class people are either living further out, or they are living in crowded conditions and this isn't changing. And "affordable" housing won't change it. Affordable housing is just a way to give tax credits to developers for building luxury housing.
