I'm having trouble loading the external applicant login page today...and when it finally loads my computer number seems wrong. Anyone else having difficulty? If I forgot my computer number, what can I do? Thanks!

I can’t load the site at all. I keep waiting, and then it times out. The screen says, 500 Internal Server Error.

same here. I'm guessing they might be doing maintenance or updates to the site.

My daughter actually went backward a couple of spots on the one-bedroom list.

If I were to take myself off hold now (it says there are 201 people ahead of me), am I likely to be called this year? I've read the 2014 thread and all of this thread, and I have heard of people who have been called to view apartments with similar numbers.

Shady, this is just my opinion/guesses as a PS observer.

I think if you are on hold, you continue to move up the list, and thus you can take yourself off hold at any time and that's the spot you'll be at. I remember someone saying that on the previous Penn South thread.

My daughter asked Penn South this question, and didn't get a reply. She decided to go on hold anyway.

So it would depend on what your goal is.

You have five years to be on hold. Assuming you're still moving up, why go off now? You wouldn't be gaining anything.

To the second part of your question: I have often been puzzled by posters in the past who were called to view apartments with log numbers like 200. I couldn't figure that out. But I surmise it's because there were so many people on the list who were not on official hold, but they didn't reply to mail or email. So essentially they were not interested.

On the other hand, this may have changed. Bcohen's daughter had a low number on the 2014 studio list when she was called recently. So what I am thinking is that people have finally been purged off the list. (I also have a friend who was one of the ones booted.) So maybe you will have to make your way up to the top of this list now. That is what I'm assuming!

It's been quiet lately, but I'm hoping that in the new year more apartments will be filled, and people will post their experiences here!
