Currently going through this same thing. Only difference is I was on the waitlist for a unit since 2020. I totally forgot about it after submitting my documents in 2021 then getting ghosted. I kept applying to other lotteries randomly but not getting my hopes up too much. Then this month on January 11th, out the blue I got a email from the re-rental department saying that they had reached my application number for a potential apartment I had been waitlisted for. I submitted my documents within 3 days (took longer because I needed to get documents notarized) They were super responsive--I'm talking within 20 mins response letting me know they received them. Then a few hours later I was told to fill out an application which I did (41 pages long, including consenting to a background check) Then my documents got forwarded to a 'resident selector' who was super nice and also responsive. They then asked for more documents. I submitted them the same day. Then they asked for even MORE documents. I submitted them the next day. Finally they said they were putting my file together and submitting to 'compliance for review' it's been about 3 days and no response. I even gave the resident selector a call for updates and she said 'No updates yet, still waiting on an approval' feels like I am at the finish line but since we are approaching the weekend, that means possibly another week or longer hear back. Was hoping to move in by the 1st of February but at this rate just trying to keep my spirits high and keep the hope alive. Any encouraging words would mean a lot. Has anybody won the lottery through a 're-rental' ?

My mom did! She applied in 2018 & was contacted 2019 but never saw the email, fast forward to May 2020 she was contacted again and invited to view & she accepted! Only took 3 months, right at the height of the pandemic! Things took longer because of the restrictions!! There after she got contacted for several other lotteries she applied for but loves where she lives now! She signed 8/15 lease because of the timing of it all! They will contact you, Sending positive vibes your way!! Congratulation!!!
