So i got an email from a property management about a studio re-rental they asked me to submit documents, didn't give me a list of documents needed, furthermore the building is a building that i was called for last year but was told i was waitlisted for an one bedroom because they only had studios left. So i am confused why am i being called for a studio now and when i emailed the management for an explanation the woman replied back “ send the documents or decline the unit” smh so damn rude

Terrible! This may just be a "fishing expedition" to get sensitive documents out of people. I would not comply.
Plus, I assume these agencies and managers are working under contract with the city. I would complain.
Thank you, its c&c management. I have been called by them for 3 lotteries by now and they were all bad experiences. Everytime i submit documents they waitlist me and i never hear anything back.
Same thing happened to me. I appealed for a building(Dec 1st.) and sent in the proof that I qualified and then they never accepted or denied my appeal. About two weeks went by(today) and I messaged them and they told me I was waitlisted. I feel played.
I'm thinking these agencies and management companies get paid per person processed, so they look to call people in who don't have a prayer and make them go through the system just to make a couple of bucks.
Just speculation on my part. But what other reason is there?
If you have a decent city councilperson, I would start with a phone call to his or her office.
This system is fraudulent. I contacted HPD they told me to submit all sources of income, identify, and taxes. I dont trust it so i will be passing on this studio, im not looking to downsize anyways. Its just a shame that one has to go through all of this to just simply get a nice comfortable place to live and some in the not so best areas.
