How should I explain non payroll deposits such as cashapps. Like if someone borrowed money and cashapp it to me .. should I just put return of borrowed funds or something to that affect??

I would think to also but “return of borrowed funds from a friend”. Unless it’s a recurring deposit of the same amount, that may raise flags I believe. I think putting that explanation should suffice.

I had to explain some Paypal and Venmo deposits of people paying me back for lunch when they were processing my apartment paperwork - I put paying me back for lunch, and it was fine.

So as long as it's not recurring deposits, it's not a big deal. Just write down whatever it was for, like lunch or owe you money, friend loan you a few dollars.

That’s exactly how I did. My mother always deposited money into my account because I paid bills for her. So I would just put my mom paid me back for paying her cable bill or phone bill. Then they had me Notarize it

Did you end up getting approved? Do they make you show proof, for money owed to you? I have a lot of deposits, from my boyfriend paying me back or paying his portion of the phone bill. I had to explain my deposits and now I'm just waiting.
