Hi , I am curious if anyone on this forum has ever received Log numbers 1-50, or are these log numbers reserved for those whose income fall within the 130% AMI and above??? I personally have never received a log number less than 8,000.....

I've seen posts where people have gotten really low log numbers. I don't think AMI has anything to do with it, especially with building that have all 130% AMIs. I myself had only received high numbers for the 1st 3 lotteries I applied to and, I am in the 130% AMI band. Only recently did I get a relatively low number of 6XX but, that building only had 2 apartments so, the relatively low log number was totally wasted!

This being lottery , I believe it could go either way. I have received a log # below 10 ! Before that , the lowest # I had was over 800.

My lowest since Housing connect 2 came out is 52XX and highest is 236XX and of the 6 they are all under 130% but very limited as very few meets our family of 4 needs or we meet the requirements. That being said for all the years I have done this I have never gotten a 2 digit number much more 3 it is usually 4 and above and for a while it was high 5 so I don't know if that answers your question but I have not met that gold ticket yet, it will happen fairly soon I am sure for the place that will make us want to call it home.

Yes! I know someone who had a Log #2 for a lottery which had about 50 apartments. He didn't have any priority (he was in the general population). In the end he didn't get an apartment because all the apartments in his AMI were taken by priority Logs (such as community, municipal, etc.). So yes it is possible to get a Log #2, and yes it is very possible to not get an apartment with a Log #2. I also know someone with a Log #36,000 for a lottery that had 49 apartments. He ended up getting an apartment because he had community preference. I also know of people with low Log numbers AND community preference who did not get an apartment because their income fell into the most popular AMIs, so they were left out by the time their Log was reached. So it can go any way -- it is a lottery.

Log numbers are assigned randomly. They are not assigned by AMI. Someone in the 30% bracket has the same chance to get log number 1 as someone in the 165% bracket.

Lowest log I ever received was 13. I am in the 130% AMI, but that has nothing to do with anything. It's all a random draw. It's just that lower AMIs have WAY more applicants so getting a good number is harder.
