Hello,

I have applied for a lottery and I was told by someone that full time college students are not allowed to apply for housing connect? Does anyone have some experience with this. We qualify in the income levels as a family of 3 with our daughter. We also filled taxes jointly if that makes a difference and currently doing college online while working secularly.

I advise you look at page 57 of the marketing handbook.

http://https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/h...g-handbook.pdf

It ultimately depends on the type of funding the building is receiving and the income bracket you fall into. Higher income units/buildings may not have this requirement.

I do know for the buildings I've interviewed at, I had to sign an affidavit that all household members were not full time students (not just college). My kindergartener counted as a full-time student.

If you, your wife, and daughter are all in school full time and you're applying to low income housing, you may be rejected. But I advise to always apply and have the marketing agent tell you that directly. It may be possible that one of you finishes school by the time your log number is reached.

*Edited for Clarity* - full time college students can apply for Housing Connect, but the entire household cannot be full time students.

Exactly, on my recent application to Stuytown, we all had to sign a student affidavit and have it notarized. My son who is a full time college student had to send us his college registration and, transcripts as well. We later had to send a notarized certificate of zero income for him. The reason for all of this is what Llama described, the whole household can not be F/T students.

Maybe your daughter can be persuaded to drop out of school. (I'm kidding!)
