The waiting game,my journey so far. Applied March 2021 received email end of March 2022. March 2022 I was asked if I'm still interested,I replied yes next day uploaded documents. Received another email next day which ask for documents upload and that was 4/2022. I ran into a problem trying to upload documents,so I received a email giving me a invite to bring in documents which I did 2 days later as they requested. 2nd week of April which may have been a holiday they was close. The 3rd to 4th week I was told to upload all documents on their portal, not housing connect portal. I uploaded everything and received a email near the end of April saying all documents received. I received another email
about 5 days later, saying your application is being reviewed, and please check out the mini lottery video. Got another email a few days later saying give us 4 to 8 weeks for the process. Is this normal happy I did apply for other apartments.

What’s your AMI?
I recently moved to the building and half the apartments are not occupied yet.
You have to stay on top of them. After a week of waiting I contacted them for an update and I was informed that my file had been sent to HDC. Waited another week and contacted them again for an update and was told that my file was approved. Same to view the apartment and sign the lease.

They still have empty units? I think we will be seeing this one on housing connect with “units still available”. They reached my log number but they only had the 130AMI left and I didn’t qualify. Had a really high log number too

What is the 'mini lottery video'? Is it specific to Astra, or is it a general informational video? Do you have a link?

You can go on youtube and type why are mini lotteries better and you should see that it is posted by Reside ny. It tells you the process and how long the wait time will be which I believe it say 3 to 4 weeks. But cleary that is not the,I guess because it depends on when they submitted your information.

I will be calling hdc tomorrow and see if my file reached them as of yet. The receptionist stated that I should hear something the first week of june, and they needed no more documents. I give it 2 weeks and I will wait on other lottery i have applied for, hopefully all goes well.

Watching this video makes me think I've won the lottery just because they contacted me. But the truth is that for my mini lottery I know for a fact that they contacted at least 100 applicants for this ONE unit. While these odds are still better than a regular lottery - it's still a very long shot.
