Just came back from viewing the apt with my grandma that won a studio. Her log was 2XX with senior preference. Overall the apt is nice and will be perfect for her since it is just her. She’s very happy with it and was told she is already approved by HPD. Next step is the lease signing which will be within 15 days from today. Here’s some pics for anyone interested.

Do you know if they have a preferred move in date or latest move in date requirement? Will the unit be locked under them even if lease wouldn't be signed until 15 days later?

I’m not sure when the move in date will be, the person who showed the unit said it’s up to the management company. But the apartment is hers. They cant give it away she signed a paper that had the unit number and my grandmas name.

what an awesome space, usually if the building is ready the management tries to push ASAP but HPD allows a one-month post-approval date from the day HPD gave you the approval.
Yes if your HPD and TIC has the unit on it, never say never but the odds of the unit going to someone else is very very low.
Do you know if the senior section is separated from the other apartments? In some postings I've seen that the senior section has a separate lobby as well.

The way it was explained to my grandma was that there is a separate entrance. Not sure if it’s just for seniors but that screams poor door to me.
Gotham Point allocated one building only for seniors, it's not a poor door or a poor building, the management wanted to give more privacy to the seniors. From what they said there will be special residents programming for seniors & also the facilities in the seniors building are dedicated only for the residents that are senior friendly. If I'm 62+ right now I'd be happy to live in this building as I would feel safe & peaceful.

That’s not true. The building she is in is NOT only for seniors. I asked this question yesterday. The majority of the HC units in the North tower is mostly seniors, yes that is true. But there is not “one building only for seniors”. So the fact that they told her she needs to use a different entrance is very much giving a poor door.
