This is finally up. Apartment in the East Village. Only 165% AMI

No thanks for me. But the apartment is not bad for a younger person who wants to live around the area so they can party at bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

I'm interested in this one, but surprised there's apparently no CB preference. This was part of a program where two buildings deemed uninhabitable were knocked down and rebuilt as affordable housing, so assumed a preference would apply. Original plans stated it was was supposed to be 130 AMI, so rents are a bit steeper than I expected as well. That said, still applying lol

This new construction lottery building has one bed rental at $2,662 month. Income $95,040 - $154,110 for one person.

How can anyone remotely begin to contrast new construction with something that went up decades ago?

Next consider Mitchell-Lama developments received far more generous government funding than this project.

Finally consider size difference between two projects. East Village Towers has hundreds of apartments against the relative handful for 535 East 12th street.
