Hello everyone,

Is it common to be offered to view a unit that isn’t what was described on housing connect?

Example:
Was asked to submit documents in the portal. I qualify for a studio apartment but was emailed by the building to view a 1 bedroom….

Would they show me a unit before receiving any of my paperwork? Also, I would hate to go see a one bedroom and only qualify for a studio.. then to be told there aren’t any studios…

Hope this makes sense. Any insight or personal stories would be greatly appreciated!

I think you should email the marketing agent before you waste your time viewing the apartment if you don’t qualify.

I applied for a 1br and I got a studio. I guess that’s what I qualified for so I’m just taking it.

Yes, the person who reached out to me on behalf of the building cc’d the agency. I replied to all and asked what was the rent for the 1 bedroom but haven’t heard back so far.

Uploading my docs either way but hesitant on viewing the apartment just yet.

Sometimes you can qualify for both 1 bed and studio it’s all about what’s left once your number is called

I was once asked to submit documents for a two bedroom even though I only qualify for a studio or one bedroom so mistakes are made. In your case, since you’ve already submitted documents you should go view it - it wouldn’t hurt
