The lottery building that I’ve been approved for requires renter’s insurance. Are there any companies you use and recommend?

Thank you

I use lemonade.com . If you have car insurance you can look with your company and bundle with them. Shop around but it's cheap. I'm actually happy that your apt requires insurnace they are so many people in NYC uninsured and if your apartment has a fire or gets flooded the owner does not owe you anything.

I bundled with auto and renter's insurance - Liberty Mutual. Pretty cheap and super easy.

I also use Lemonade. Haven't had to use it but it is very inexpensive ($9 a month) and they made it super easy to move my policy when I moved last year. No complaints.

I use Liberty Mutual - haven't had to claim yet, but I've seen they are pretty good with that.

i second lemonade. I found them easy to sign up. Granted, I never had to submit a claim with them, but like you I had to get insurance for where I moved (and truthfully, nothing I own is that valuable). I think I paid like $11 a month.
