This varies SO much by building. On average the whole process is 2-4 months but it can happen a bit faster or a lot slower. In 2019 my process took 7 months, in 2022 the process took 3 months. Note too that there can be building delays that slow things down, sometimes it takes a while to get the certificate of occupancy which will delay final approvals.

Check the documents section of housing connect for the building and see if the TIC has been uploaded there by the agency. You want to confirm if your file was actually sent to the city and this is a way to check. Almost always the TIC is uploaded. If you see it and it's been a week, follow up with HPD, if it hasn't check wit the marketing agency to see when they plan to send it.

Good plan. In my 2022 process I was told over about 3 weeks they were about to send it but they kept taking their time. You definitely have to stay on them. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies! I'm a few weeks into the waiting process

ETA: Congrats to both of you!

I’ve been waiting since April in which I saw and confirmed my TIC was sent to HPD. I am anxiously waiting. I wonder if they are backed up? It’s almost going to be 3 weeks.

You can call HPD directly and ask the status of your app. Does your app on HC still say "under review"? That would indicate HPD still has to look at it but you might be able to get an explanation as to what is taking so long by calling them.

My file has also been with HPD for two weeks now. The rep working my file says that there is a hold up at DOI with a few batches. Hopefully they get us our approvals soon!

As someone up thread said, every management company is different. I recently won a unit and my tic was not uploaded. And the approval time from when my packet was sent to hpd was almost 2 weeks.
