I would suggest sending an email to management. Don’t just call to let them know. You need to leave a paper trail as proof they were notified. That way you are not liable for paying rent past your move date.
You can send something saying along the lines of;
Example:
To whom it may concern,
I “your name”, am writing to inform you I will be moving out “address & unit number” on “move date”. Also, how do I go about receiving my security deposit?
If you have any question, you can respond to this email or I can be reached at “phone number”.
Kind regards,
“Your name”
If you have a live in superintendent, you can also add in your email you will leave the keys with the super OR ask where or who to drop the keys off to.
