I have been applying for the housing lotteries for a while, and i recently found a lottery that I would qualify for in terms Community Board preference & income rang. I wanted to know what documents should I start to upload now before the lottery ends to get a head start on the process. I hope it works out well for me as I have been hoping for a place of my own.

Since the process can take months to years, wouldn’t upload any paystubs or bank info since you need the most current 6 months from when they ask you. You can upload your ID, lease and taxes.

Just an fyi uploading now does nothing besides having your documents in a central location (which you can also save on your local drive). Once selected to submit your documents, you will have to reupload it directly to the lottery page on HC. There have been cases where people missed the submission deadline as they assumed uploading it to your documents section in HC was sufficient and didn’t upload it to the lottery.

Wait, what do you mean by uploading to the lottery. Are you saying there is a separate section where you would upload document outside of the My Documents section?

Correct. Once your log number is reached and you are instructed to upload documents, a section opens up under the lottery application to upload your documents there. You cannot do so prematurely, and only the documents uploaded there will be considered.

Yeah, when they get to your log number and you get an email requesting documents, that's when you need to upload the specific documents they requested directly to the actual lottery page. You can see this screen by going to "My Applications" on HC, clicking "View Details" on that specific lottery, and clicking the "Documents" tab. You won't be able to upload documents there until they request it in the process though.
