My husband and I are taking our 14yr old to Comic Con and need directions (preferably walk and subway) from LGA to Javitz. Sooo many choices in google! . . . Need a New Yorker!!
From the airport, get the M60 bus (I always like city buses; I think of them as sightseeing tours thrown in for free when you've paid your fare!) Take that to 110 Street in Manhattan, where you can catch the #1 train. Ride it downtown to 34 Street--a.k.a. Pennsylvania Station/Madison Square Garden. Walk west along 34 Street. Voila!

Another option is to take the M60 bus to HOYT AVE & 31ST ST near the Astoria Blvd. subway station (in Queens). From there take N or Q subway train to the 42nd Street/Times Square station. From there you can either walk or take a M42 or M34 bus to Javits Convention Center.
Now that I think about it, you can also take the Q33 bus from the airport to either the 82 or 74 Street stations on the #7 train direct to Times Square. Then you can walk over to the Javits Center (or, depending on the weather) catch the M42 bus right there on 42 Street.
Take a flat rate car service @ $46. You can adjust the rate by asking for a a scenic route to about $40 more. Yellow taxi's have a flat fee of $40-45 from point to point. But if you request a different route then the meter comes on and can become expensive.

My friend went to that ComicCon and spent 250 bucks on a Polaroid of Stan Lee.
