Far Rockaway is definitely not for everyone. I can't explain it but its definitely Far from Manhattan, and has a different vibe than most the places in NYC. I myself wouldn't mind living in Far Rockaway if I had a car because its definitely an area where its very, very helpful to have a car. You don't need it so much for Parkchester.
Thank you so much for your input. I have been tying to decide where to live. If I should move there, the Parkchester or the Wavecrest Gardens in Far Rockaway or just stay in my tiny room that I pay 1k for and share a bathroom with other people on the Upper West Side. I just need to know if I move that it will be a secure place I feel so safe where I am but having my own place would seem a little better.
Parkchester!!! Far Rockaway is too far Rockaway. On the LIRR you have to go to through Nassau County to get to another part of Queens. That's far Rockaway.
Thanks!! i'm going to see Parkchester next weekend and just hang around there a little. So far that seems like my best choice unless I want to go to the Moda in Queens, and i have only heard bad things about that place. I'll let everyone know how it works and maybe take some updated pics!
So Amber, you said you would let everyone know how it worked out with Parkchester... how DID it work out?
