Coming from a dinner in Saddle River (Bergen Co) NJ which ends around 9:45PM-10PM..

need to be at 19th Street and 3rd Ave BEFORE the ball drop.. earlier the better obviously..

am I being too ambitious??

figured since Time Sq is generally closer to the West Side, will I pass by most of the mayhem going down FDR instead of West Side Hwy??

Any East Side road closings?? Will FDR be super clogged or will the crowds have been settled and situated by then??

Grazi

I don't think you would have too many problems at that hour, using the Harlem River and East River Drives. I would not expect huge disruptions on the WSH/HH Parkway that could cause problems nearer the bridge, just a mess if you were headed crosstown in Midtown.

You should be OK in Manhattan...I'd be more worried about the GWB (the GWB approach in NJ often gets traffic jams worse than anything in the five boroughs, I find), but I suppose by then most people will already be wherever they are going.
