I was mainly joking, but Philly is like NY's pesky little brother, everything Ny does Philly must follow suit, granted the two cities are close in proximity. Other than that I don't really have a problem with Philly really

Yes,I said it.
Rock does too, though.

Those Columbine kids sure weren't listening to tupac when they shot up that school.

I think Hip hop was one of the best things that happen back in the day. It was initially created by Black Americans at the end of the decade of the civil rights movement.

Now hip hop has become arrogant an egotistic.
It used to be fun hip hop, now its about how much money you got, and how many cars.
The lyrics are void.

but what about the lyrics "if yo girl starts actin up, then you take her friend. hotel, motel"

that's like saying Men do what you need to do even if you're in a relationship

sounds egotistical to me. like i said, i only like dancing. the rest of hip hop i can do without

I prescribe a youtube search of Method Man and Mary J's "you're all I need" or A tribe called Quest's "Electric Relaxation"

Not only Black Americans, but Hispanics too, especially Puerto Ricans in the South Bronx. Moreover, Hip Hop was not invented due to the civil war. It began as a movement to stop younger people from joining gangs in the South Bronx.

yeah, hip-hop was created as a result of certain conditions the civil rights movement could not address.

I mean they delivered a message in the rap songs about things about civil rights... but hip hop itself was not created due to the civil rights movement is what I am saying. It was created to stop kids from joining gangs.

I completely agree. I also don't like the way it portrays women. Not to mention the use of the 'n' word. There was a whole argument between Oprah and Jay-Z over this. Oprah says she is starting to understand why Jay-Z thinks the 'n' word is a good thing in rap. For me personally, I think it is an insult and always will. Just like saying 'you can't make a ho a housewife, etc.' is equally insulting and degrading.
