Hello,
So I was on the internet last night when I receive a IM from someone. Once I read it, I had to really try and let it settle in. I can see the inflow on young hipsters running to NYC. I could just envision all the young teens saying MOM I have to move there, it looked so cool! I never thought something like this would happen. Of all the places in the world. The next Real World is........... Real World: Brooklyn
Your thoughts? Have you guys seen anyone who looks like they may be from the show with cameras following them around? Wow so it's really happening. Real World: Brooklyn. Sounds like fun.
Reaction to this from a real new yorker:
In an inevitable, perhaps even overdue collision of reality and lifestyle, this morning MTV announced it has green-lighted the 21st season of The Real World. It will be filmed in Brooklyn, the reigning home turf of post-teen drama, and broadcast in 13 one-hour episodes in early 2009. No word yet regarding in which neighborhood the attention-seeking hopefuls will reside and manufacture identity-based conflict. We are hoping for the corner of Smith and Carroll but will also settle for Bedford and North Sixth. We would also like to see The Real World: East New York, where things start getting really real, and surely City Councilman Charles Barron of that neighborhood would assist with locations. God speed, young funny-haired applicants.

Reason: Copywrited material
Who *really* cares about this? I mean, really??? I guess teenagers who watch the show do. The Real World might've been relevant in the early-to-mid '90s, "pre-reality craze". But today, I feel it is about time to throw in the towel for the show. They should have returned to the city (Manhattan) to wrap up the show.
It's all the same anymore. They go out, party, get drunk, hook up, and fight. Episode after episode that is all that ever happens. I have no desire to watch that crap!
I know the Brooklynites get crazy happy and pumped when their borough gets repped, but honestly as a watcher of the series, I would have liked them to have gone somewhere else. This is going to be the third time they do a Real World season in NYC.
