That neighborhood is done. In the last ten years most neighborhoods in Brooklyn improved, even ENY. Some stayed the same. Canarsie got worse.

Canarsie is so "not done." You think this it was better before? You haven't checked the stats....there were MUCH worse things happening in Canarsie decades ago. You must be new.

Many of the poor residents from Bed Stuy and Crown Heights being priced out of their neighborhoods have been moving to Canarsie.

No, here since 1978 when I was born. 'Decades ago' Canarsie residents were worried about their proximity to bad neighborhoods...now they live in one!

@ sobroguy I was gonna tell him the same thing... Amazingly the bad neighborhood of Canarcie you are referring to has gotten better and better as the years have gone on...

Does the area by the 105th station on the L train seem like the hood to you guys? Only part of Canarsie I've spent any time in as an adult but i think I'm all set!!!

I didn't spend any time in Canarsie as a child really. But it was always thought of and spoken of as a stable working class area that just happened to border Brownsville.

And that is what Canarsie continues to be. Only difference between now and then is the demographics...

Interesting. People shooting at MTA buses and frequent home invasions don't really say "stable" to me but I guess that's in the eye of the beholder....
