I know nothing about Queens. My daugher is looking at a summer (possibly continuing into fall) job in Queens and needs a place to live. She doesn't drive. Ideas? Is it safe there? Thank you!!

There are plenty of safe neighborhoods in Queens. What is her monthly budget?

Not sure. The area her potential job is in is Little Neck...does that mean anything?

Little Neck is kinda suburban, at least for NYC standards. No subway, but there's a commuter rail to Western Queens / Manhattan. Little Neck is definitely safe and might be a little bit cheaper than some parts of the city since it's not near the center. Maybe she could live in or right next to Little Neck and commute by bus.

Little Neck is very nice and there a lot of buses that service the area. That would be the best mode of transportation.
