Hey everyone,

My girlfriend is going to Albert Einstein in the fall, located right next to Jacobi Medical Center in the East Bronx.

Does anyone live around there, pass by there, or have any advice on the area?

I believe the 4 is the closest train, so how are the train stations?

Thanks for your help!

The 5 to Pelham Parkway or the 6 to somewhere but I'm not sure are your stops.

It's in Pelham Parkway/Morris Park.

The closest subway stop is the 5 train Pelham Parkway Stop at Pelham Parkway and Williamsbridge Road. It's a nice neighborhood. She can walk to AE from there in about 10 mins.

Other possibilities would be the 5 train Morris Park stop(1 stop before the Pelham Parkway Stop),the 2 train stop at Pelham Parkway/White Plains or the 6 train stop at Westchester Sq. The Morris Park stop is only a little further than the PP 5 stop. She would probably need to take a bus from either of the last 2 stations. The 4 train doesn't go anywhere near AE/Jacobi.

Jacobi is in the middle of what is probably the nicest area of The Bronx ,except for Riverdale.

Other than Riverdale the Northeast Bronx is one of the best areas of the Bronx. I used to live in the Pelham Parkway area about 2 blocks from the Bronx Zoo. Jacobi hospital is located on the other end of Pelham Parkway close to the #5 train line....the BX12 bus also runs down Pelham Parkway all the way down Fordham Road in one direction and to City Island, Co-op City, Orchard beach and Pelham Bay park.

The #4 train line can go through some sketchy neighborhoods....but over by Einstein hospital is also a pretty good area of the Bronx. My grandmother lives in Co-op City and goes to Einstein hospital for her doctors appointments.

If your girlfriend has a choice in the matter she should choose Jacobi in my opinion....
