Im going to NYC July 22-24 and its my first time. I'm really excited about it, but dont want to stress much on hotels. Any suggestions on a nice hotel in manhattan that wont cost me 300 dollars a night? I'd like something close to a lot of action.. I'm 29, and plan on checking out the night scene and anything else I can squeeze in a small weekend stay. Budget would have to be up to 250 a night for a room.
Or the West Side YMCA. Located just off Central Park West and steps from Lincoln Center, offer single and double rooms. $112 for a single deluxe room per night. I use to be a member of the gym and it's a nice and safe location. You're steps away from Columbus Circle (A,B,C,D and 1 trains) and numberous buses.
$250 a night is a good budget, so you won't have to settle for one of those small hotels. The large ones (eg, Hyatt) may lack charm, but for a first-timer, the convenience would be helpful. Try www.hotels.com. Some large chains have good rates below $200 but nonrefundable. But if your itinerary is all set, that should be no problem for you.
I've always liked the Club Quarters chain. They have hotels in the Financial District, World Trade Ctr, Rockefeller Ctr, etc. They're geared to business travelers, so the facilities are quite good and the locations are convenient.
