Can someone explain to me WHY if Fireworks are illegal in NYC, why is EVERYONE setting them off?? I love professional fireworks in a proper celebratory setting, but when I'm home I do not feel like I'm living in the middle of a war zone with 'Bombs' going off and the house shaking after every explosion. And why do they tell you to report these illegal fireworks and then when you do they don't respond. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I hope the kids don't blow up pigeons and raccoons. That's sick and cruel.

Unless you are, or someone you're with is, ill and in need of quiet bed-rest (I hope this isn't the case), I think you need to relax. The illegality of fireworks in New York is absurd and dumb, anyway.

Speaking from personal experience, July 4 is just another day now.
You think it's loud now, it used to be non-stop the entire day.
But liked it. Now it's just "July 4th"? Oh, who cares.

I don't know about you but where I live at in Ridgewood it was louder than ever... Since July 1st all you heard were those firecrackers going off at all times of day... And from about 8-11pm it was non-stop... Literally 10 seconds did not go by without hearing a set of them... And I heard alot of neighborhoods were alot more live this year in terms firecrackers than recent previous years...

At least you know a couple of idiots out there will lose a couple of fingers or hands from their gross negligence of handling a couple half sticks of dynamite...
