So, I accidentally left my Metro North monthly pass on the train last night, and now it's gone for good. Is there any way to get Grand Central customer service to issue me a replacement? I called their customer service, but was told it was treated like cash.

if you paid by credit card they should be able to trace and cancel the card then give you a pro rated refund

Its stated on their website:
MNR Fares and Schedules

Download the form they posted on there site (Please click on the following link for a PDF version of our Refund Form):
http://mta.info/mnr/html/ticketrefund.pdf

On page 2 of that form it states the following:
Tickets originally purchased with a credit card will be refunded to your credit card account. Tickets purchased with cash, personal checks, or debit cards will be refunded by check

To to the OP, download the form and mail it to the address listed and then follow up with the MTA

Shoot. I have the same problem. But I think we're stuck:

looky here
MNR Fares

"Monthly and Weekly Tickets
If commutation tickets submitted for refund before their expiration, the discount is forfeited, and we must deduct the proper combination of one-way and/or weekly fares for the period the ticket has been in the customer's possession. (Lost tickets are not refundable.)"

Emphasis on the "Lost tickets are not refundable." Nooo!
