Perhaps GQ is just slightly too full of itself. (Although it's true that if you consider everyone who lives in Manhattan, and not just the fashionistas, well, they could have a point).
Most of all fashion comes out of NYC first, So I dont buy that..
No it does not! it comes from overseas as far as manufacturing. I lived over seas and American designers are known but most of the clothes lets say in the UK France or Italy are local designers.
Most fashion comes out of NYC as poster has stated, but the average Manhattanite has to pay the rent. For years you could always tell a Manhattanite on the subway because they would mostly dress in black or shades of black. This was mostly because they could mix and match every piece of clothing to create various outfits. Thus keeping the clothing cost down. Other boros could always out dress Manhattan.
