If you get a house from a NYC Housing Authority, do you have pay like 50% percent of the rent or something like that ? Do you also have to pay bills and other utility bills ? I qualify for 3 bedroom apartment and not sure how much I would have to pay. Please respond. Thanks !!!!!

I believe it is 30% of your income, but I don't think you pay for utilities.

Excuse me sir, but I came to United States little more than 2 months ago-I am a quite a recent immigrant. I am having terrible time finding a job, feeding my family, and paying my house rent. It's not really my fault that United States with its $4.7 billion dollars in debt offered my family and I visas to the country promising me a better life. Isn't it fair that I don't have to worry about the house rent, at least, for a little while until we become settled ? Please be more respective next time you decided to respond in the similar manner as not everyone is well settled as you are...

Someone, for the love of God, tell me this is a troll posting. Seriously. I'm asking anyone with any knowledge of public housing to tell me if this guy can be on the level. Thanks.

Oh god please tell me this is not where my tax dollars actually go? And no, I don't want you to be entitled to ANY help out of my pocket because you just came here. I'd rather you NOT come here.

You don't even understand my situation... I'm brand new here and nobody has provided me a place to live with my family!?!

Jesus, it's like the mentality of a newborn, and even they probably know better.

A) $4.7 billion isn't even a drop in the bucket to America's debt
B) I'm pretty sure no representative of the United States promised you a better life. That may be a conception that you came up with yourself.

Say what??
Last time I checked the number was over $14 TRILLION.
(A huge chunk went to bankers, prisons, and the war industry... the REAL freeloaders.)

But my position on immigration is that the United States should shut its doors to ALL immigration. There are not enough resources (jobs, housing) to support the current population and importing more cheap labor via visa, or illegals should be stopped completely and immediately... PERIOD.
But corporations, always seeking to lower wages, demands more cheap labor, and when corporations speak, politicians listen.
