A proposal by the city to install “bus bulbs,” at bus stops located next to train stations under the el on Westchester Avenue in Community Board 10 has raised concerns about lost parking spots.

The city Department of Transportation and the Department of Design and Construction presented a preliminary plan to CB 10 recently that calls for the creation of safety islands that extend out from the sidewalk for the whole length of a bus on Westchester Avenue at the intersections of Buhre Avenue, Middletown Road, and Zerega Avenue.

Wow did you even read the article? Why are you making such a blanket (and wrong) statement. The article indicates that the community board is CONCERNED (not that they are choosing parking spots over safety) that the lost parking spots will have a detrimental impact on the struggling business along the area. That is the purpose of the community board..to voice concerns about all aspects of the community, pedestrians, businesses, residents, visitors, workers, etc.

They are looking to ensure a way to keep as many parking spots as possible while also increasing safety..so what is the problem here? Why are you making this out to be something it is not?
