Not sure where to post this question, but since its about NYC I decided to ask here. Its just my curiosity, nothing personal hehe

Are there any parks for dogs to hang out? What about hotels? Is UES open to big dogs? Because it is the richest place (is it?) in NY and something tells me they only have small dogs in pretty clothes. Am I wrong?

It depends on whether you're looking to rent or to buy. Most rental buildings have strict limitations on pets, most restrict breeds or discriminate based on size if they allow pets at all.

Co-ops and condos also have pet restrictions, but to a lesser degree since tenants are directly responsible for the property.

Most parks will have a "dog run"- it is fenced in so you can play with your dog and have it socialize with other dogs in a contained area where they can't run off and cause trouble.

I don't think there are any restrictions on walking your dog in the parks or streets on the UES provided that you:

1) Keep your dog on a leash at all times
2) Clean up the poop and dispose of it in a trash can

And you will see the same share of pit-bulls on the UES as you will in any part of town.

The city has too many dogs...but as times get tougher, fewer people will choose to share their food with animals.
