Well that is exactly why I want you to do that, I want to see the numbers that is required to live within your means. I want to know how you manage to do it in NYC and like you, we need to then see all your expenses to better analyze your finances.

Simple, ages old formula that we have gotten away from. Housing expenses {rent or mortgage+utils} should be no greater than 25% of your net household income. Simple.

Actually,I am keeping it under 20% . 25% seems a little on the high side to me.

Yet another reason to shred financial docs before throwing them away. I hereby resolve to be more careful when discarding sensitive paperwork. Thanks, Mr. Scratch/corrector, whether your creepy bank statement mining is real or imaginary, your posts may have spared me a future as an identity theft victim.

Even though you have done me a huge favor, I hope you are caught and stopped ASAP, because this activity, if it actually occurs, is despicable.

If that's the case, why are you concerned with discretionary expenses like spas? Maybe miss secretary only spends 10% of her income on living and the rest on her emotional and spiritual well being. Or, you're just a wacko.

So is identity theft okay if the information is found in the trash?
