Okay I know this is a really hard question to answer considering NYC has hundreds of thousands of coffee shops throughout the city. I live in Glen Oaks, all the way on the Queens/Nassau County border, but I occasionally travel around the city and since I LOVE coffee, I would love to try a bunch of different coffee shops. I am referring to shops that have various different types of blends; particularly ones that have a very very bold taste. I have tried various different kinds of bold coffee and I have not met my match yet. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you guys can help me out and I'm interested in hearing about some of the shops you guys recommend. Thanks in advance.

Funny you should mention this, I was having a discussion about The Tea Lounge in Park Slope the other day. I found the iced coffee I had there the best I've ever had! And I don't even know what made it so great! I am not a coffee expert tho..

Hmm, I've never heard of the Tea Lounge before. I've only been in Park Slope a couple of times. Do you know if they have different blends of coffee? I'm not a fan of sugary specialty coffees with whipped cream and chocolate; I'm more into plain hot coffee with a little bit of milk and no sugar. I'm know some things about coffee, but I'm by no means a expert on coffee, it's just something I've always liked.

my mom lived in Woodstock, Ga. before she passed last year. When I was there last, In the revitalized "downtown" area was an elaborate coffee/jazz club place called The Copper Coin that had easily the best coffee I had ever had. There was something totally different about the coffee and even surpassed Timothy's and Juan Valdez. You would like it if you were there(I know you were looking for places in NY but I just had to tell you about the place in Ga)

Henna, thank you for the link as well. There's a lot on that list to choose from and they all look good. I gotta admit some of these cafe's have some pretty creative ideas... "'Australian iced coffee': a double shot of chilled espresso over two scoops of vanilla ice cream with milk." That sounds good to me
