This is exactly why I have supported it the whole time. I realize people can still order multiple drinks or get refills. Whatever makes it more difficult for people to get fat is completely fine with me.
Oh yeah..soda is the cause of people being fat...not overeating, not sitting in front of the tv or computer...big size drinks make you fat.
Try avoiding the NY state of mind which is...getting into other people's business.
Oh wait..you're from CA...the primo nanny state.
People should have the choice, but it is a fact that large/extra large soft drinks provide zero nutritional value, are included in the cost of a meal in most places, and often have the same number of calories as a full meal. It's an unnecessary food product that's not even food.
I love the stuff, but I think we should all be encouraged to drink less of it instead of thinking of it as a beverage.
I don't drink that size, to me it is way too much.
But, if all these years we have had this size, then to take it away because Bloomberg feels it is not good for our health, it just seems to me like the government is really trying to dictate the amount of sugary drinks we should consume.
It just seems that to me the mayor should devote his time to the dept of sanitation, because NY and it's boroughs are filthy and disgusting.....and forget about a soda size.
It really seems silly to even dote on something like this. This isn't going to make people healthier, they will just order 2 drinks instead of one, if they want to.
Imagine everyone saw the "light" like Bloomberg and deceided not to drink soda anymore, not to smoke anymore, no to have potatoe chips anymore, not to drink alcohol anymore............
there would be a lot of companies out of business and a lot of people un-employed................is that what he wants?????
I think this man has a nerve to become mayor for the third term, yet then make it back to a two term limit.

And not scarfing down a quadruple decker bacon cheese burger or inhaling a 5 scoop sundae. The list is endless. When you're chowing down on garbage, does a 20 oz soda REALLY make a difference? This ban is ridiculous because it doesn't cover all establishments. I can't have a large coke with my fries but I can certainly get a 26 oz Slirpee that's loaded with junk. If there's going to be a drink ban then it should be uniform.
So we should want people to be unhealthy so we could have jobs? You know how much money we would save in health care expenses. Plus, the money would go to something else. Get some healthier alternatives. People evolved to crave sugar and fats cause they were hard to come by. Companies are profiting of evolution.
I could les beczuse when I order fast food or slushes generally a small or a medium drink contemplates my meal and when im about on the.street or at work I drink a can of soda. The idea here is not health but commerce. Some years ago the cigarette companies made lite cigarettss which made smokers smoke more and not less and causing the same health problems as reglar cigarettes. The more small sodas the more sodas people will drink compared to drinking one large or medium which might satisfy a soda drinker thirst. More small soft drinks consumed the more money for companies and corporations.than again I rarely eat fast food.

so how does a medium drink contemplate your meal? Does it ponder what you are eating? Does it review the caloric content?
You got a real smart drink there.
