I love korean fried chicken! KyoChon and Madforwings are my favorite! Mad has these incredible Parmesan fries and of course both places serve crunchy radishes. I'm crazy about spicy food but I found the spicy wings to be too much of a challenge especially if I want to go to town with the little chickens, so I stick with soy and garlic. I love the crispy skin, moistened with some beer! Ummm...

Of the main fast food places. I prefer KFC over Popeyes. Although most people seem to think Popeyes is higher quality. For me growing up the best fried bird was from Carporal which was around 157th and Broadway. They closed that place down unfortunately. John's Fried Chicken in Inwood is an approximation of Carporal but Carporal was better.

Although I don't eat them much now a days, KFC was also my favorite for fried chicken, but
not all KFC are equal. Some are very good and the chicken are fresh, then there are some nasty
ones out there, the chicken is like over cooked or maybe re-fried from over night left over.

Try Sugarfreak in Astoria. Great Southern/Louisana food all around.

since this thread is about fried chicken, this question applies for the most part.

Where is a great place to get chicken wings and a beer? something kinda like buffalo wild wings, just without the crazyness of buffalo wild wings.

Preferably i'd want it to be in queens or manhattan as I work in manhattan and live in queens.

Buffalo Wild Wings used to be a place I went to with my friends all the time back home, but now I just want some good chicken wings for my girlfriend and me.

that KFC location is good at lunchtime only. try getting there around 11:30 - 12PM. if you can't smell the chicken from the outside, then don't go in. that's usually a bad sign. that goes for pizza places as well.

Go here

Mad For Chicken - Murray Hill - Flushing, NY

or here

KyoChon - Murray Hill - Flushing, NY

Crispy wings, affordable pitchers of beer, great fries, very clean and good service. Mad for chicken has a loungey vibe with free popcorn while you wait, and awesome parmesan fries! Just get the soy garlic, the spicy is too spicy. Both have TVs, mad for chicken has individual TV's at each table, if that's the sort of thing you care about.
