But it's probably one of those hoods like out in LA where it's all houses with lawns that have the flag over the door, etc. but there's still 10 people getting dropped every night...
I felt uncomfortable everywhere I walked in the bronx. Specially waiting for trains. Ghetto and disgusting people everywhere. Tons of typical youngsters with "THAT LOOK" that you'd rather stay away from.
By the way, I currently live in Astoria, Queens.
Oh and I'd like to mention that I'm actually moving to Harlem. If you've been reading my other threads, that's 116th st between Lenox & 5th Ave.
That place is a walk in the park now that I've experienced the bronx
Well then ,you better have a reality check boy, because a lot of The Bronx is a lot nicer than where you are headed to live.
I live in The Bronx and I avoid most of Harlem as much as I do the area in The Bx you're so freaked about.116th and Lenox is no prize, believe me.Wouldn't be caught DEAD living there.
Sheesh, talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Maybe this whole thread is just about you trying to make yourself feel better about the hell hole you are headed into?

I have to agree with you here. The majority of the BX isnt pleasant, but neither is 116th and Lenox by a long shot.

That part of Harlem is hood too but given the choice between Harlem and the Bronx, I would prefer harlem.
The latter is also more likely to gentrify at a much faster rate than the Bronx, making it more desirable.
After all Harlem is within Manhattan, and at one point most (if not all of Manhattan) will not be ghetto.

You can't compare "Harlem" with "The Bronx" because The Bronx is the size of Philadelphia. You can fit all of Harlem into about 1/3 of just The South Bronx for christ's sake.
Unless in your example you are willing to say that you would prefer to live in Harlem rather than in Riverdale or Morris Park.If that's the case there is no hope for you.
Who tf cares about what may or may not gentrify? What in god's name is this obsession with gentrification? That's stupid.I'd rather( and do) live in a neighborhood that never went down and doesn't really need to come back up.Someplace where the QOL is acceptable now, not maybe in a few years or in a few decades. One could die( and many have) waiting for their neighborhood to gentrify
