Today I went to Jackson heights, Queens. I went to a bar with my brother. They asked me where I am from? So I told them that I am from the Bronx, but in reality they wanted to know what is my nationality and such. So I told them that I was Puerto Rican. Then they made a big deal, the bartender told the other bartender "look they are puerto ricans." Why do they make it a big deal if you are puerto rican? The bartenders were Colombians, and the bar as well.
maybe they were talking about Ricans before you entered. I wouldn't look too much into this. West Indians do the same thing. People from the Indian subcontinent do the same thing as well.

Yes but it is every time I go to any lounges or bars in Queens that they always ask where I'm from lol. I think is because there aren't many Ricans in Queens.

Queens no, but if you want to see Ricans go to north Brooklyn or SpaHa

Probably because there are many Colombians in Jackson Heights.

Not in Jackson Heights but there's plenty of Puerto Ricans in Ridgewood, and significant populations in Glendale, Liberty Park (sub-section of Glendale), Maspeth borderline Ridgewood, Woodhaven, Far Rock, LIC (Queensbridge area), parts of Jamaica, etc.
