So here's the problem I'm having with my barber(s). I only go to Dominican barbers to get my cuts but it seems to be a trend now to cut the hairline around the temple like it's scooped out or like a wide "C" instead going down at a diagonal angle at the top of the temple then a smooth curve towards the sideburns.

I tried several barbers with the same result. I tried hand motions and "Yo quiero como natural" but then they think I mean don't cut it at all. So I went back to my old barber in E. Harlem. He was cutting it like I like for awhile but then he started doing the scoop too. A couple of weeks ago, I went to one of his co-barbers cause I couldn't wait for him and this dude hooked me up! I almost told my regular barber "this is how I like it cut" when I got out of the chair but figured that would be no bueno lol.

So have any of you noticed barbers cutting like this recently? Or better yet, can any Spanish speaking folk tell me how I can better explain to him/them that I don't want it "scooped" in Spanish? Unfortunately, there's no old school hairstyle poster on the wall to help me out so I'm relying you! lol

You're paying them to cut your hair. They should fix it they don't do it right, simple as that. I've had the same barber for many years now and I don't even have to tell him what I want because he already knows.
