I would like to apply to become a substitute teacher in NYC . The HR website is not too user friendly on people who arent in the system already.

Any suggestions on how I can go about this. i am bi lingual with a bachelors degree and no criminal record.

Substitute/Per Diem Teachers - Human Resources - New York City Department of Education
Unfortunately, all newly hired substitute teachers need to be "nominated", meaning a principal needs to personally recommend you for work at their school, and then you will be sent an application. It's very difficult to get your foot in the door these days.
