I think many just noticed that Bloomberg's net worth nearly quintupled during his mayoral stint.

And he has also giving lots of his money to NYC charities, according to channel 7 news.

NYC is better today because of Mayor Giuliani and Mayor Bloomberg. My stomach quivers every time I think that soon we will be voting for a new mayor. I guess I am afraid that in the wrong hands, NYC can return to the status it acquired in the 70's, when I used to shiver every time I had to ride the subway. And in the wrong hands, it can become a Detroit, Michigan, or a Camden, New Jersey.

And by the way, I vote Independent.

I think it could be very interesting to see what platform or vision these entreprenuers would run on, and how they believe they can manage unions and all the special interests in a way that facilitates their vision for NYC.

I would at least hear what they have to say, but would need to feel confident that whatever visions/dreams they have are realistic, achievable, etc. It would be great to have at least one participate in the Mayoral debates, even just to make them more interesting.
