How do you see your NYC?

I try not to take it for granted but overall I feel very lucky to live here. I think New York City is an amazing by place by any standard, even though there are days when aspects of it are really stressful or frustrating.

That being said I've also come to love Hawaii.

In years past, I viewed New York City as the once carefree young spirit acquaintances like me found intriguing to look at and fun to share experiences. During 1970s, NYC introduced me to tours (Circle Line and Hudson River Day Line) and accessible ethnic enclaves (Lower East Side & Harlem). In 1980s, NYC taught me about local politics (Ed Koch), inexpensive shops (Alexanders), and rebellious music (Paul Simon & Public Enemy). The 1990s had NYC present me opportunities in careers (CocaCola/Pfizer) and in relationships (chat rooms, club Vinyl). Sadly after 2001, NYC is a vapid elitist old soul that isn't much fun to be around. I'm confident NYC's future outlook by dwellers will not be so bleak forever.

I was born and raised in nyc and it has changed a lot over the years. I love. I'm a New Yorker in the bone, but sometimes I get jaded by all the rats, dirt, grime, homeless, and smell of urine. Sometimes I want to move someplace cleaner, but I quickly realize I'll get bored to death in those kind of places.
