I am planning to move to Queens. I am with family and I have kid and looking for best area to live where we can have good elementary schools. My office location is queens plaza north.
Preferred stay in Indian community.
Please suggest.

There is an area in jackson heights. and on the nassau/queens border you have new hyde park/floral park.

Jackson Heights are more like a Paki and Bangladesh community IMO... I lived there for about eight months.

Yeah I will second Richmond Hill., huge Indian community that spills over into Woodhaven. Another area though is East Elmhurst above Astoria Blv in the upper 70's thru low 90's. It has an Indian community but also white, Hispanic and African American. The further west you go towards Astoria the more white, indian it becomes.

There's still a pretty good sized Indian community there. the garden apartments there could be pretty idyllic.

Richmond Hill is okay but I'm not so sure if the schools are good.

Floral Park and Glen Oaks have large Indian communities and some of the best public schools in the city, however, if you're working in Queens Plaza the commute could be very long.

Jackson Heights and Kew Gardens are decent options too, and are much closer to Queens Plaza.
