Attached garage near Manhattan: Possible?

Look at Astoria, Queens. In particular the admittedly small area say between 31st Ave to 34th Ave north/south and 28th St to 30th St west/east has a number of attached single-family homes with one car garages on the lower level. Similar homes on 32nd St between the same north/south borders as well. Safe area, short walk to the subway and easy commute to Manhattan. Lots of great new restaurants and bars in the area as well over the last few years.

And yes, there are shared garages for motorcycles with space for tools and shop areas. Mostly in Brooklyn.

Many other places in Brooklyn and Queens will have the same (again not sure how many would be for rent), but Forest Hills is the first place I thought of when you asked for safe, reasonable commute and attached garage.

Forest Hills does look nice. That will definitely make the short list.

That's interesting, I have never heard of that. I would still prefer to be in a garage at home, but a shared garage could be a great idea if I can't make that happen.

I generally stick with old Suzuki's of the oil-cooled variety (Bandits, Katanas, and old GSXR's). I still have a 91 GSXR1100 sitting at a relative's house, because I refused to sell it, even moving to Brazil.
