The NY license plates you see are from New Yorkers who are escaping from the sky high taxes and cost of living of NYS. The midwestern license plates you see are from transplants who can't afford to pay for NYC car insurance and are using Mom's address in Dayton, OH to register their car.

Considering this is the New York City forum, and not the New York State forum, I'd say that seems to be the case.

Havent you heard? Us New Yorkers are leaving New York City and rebuilding the Midwest. Your people failed at the Midwest and the young so called wannabe well to do types moved out of the Midwest to silly places such as NYC, DC, Boston and SF ruining the cultural aspects of these great cities and making life hard for many locals from cost of living to jobs. Were going to rebuild the Midwest cornfield, by cornfield, abadonded factor, by abandoned factory, rustbelt, by rustbelt!

Lol, just finished sitting by my dying grandmother, who has maybe 72 hours left. I needed the laugh!

One of the toughest thing in life everyone have to go through is losing our friends and family and there is
not much we can do about it. I've tried to apperciate my family and friends a little more after my grandma
pass away. Instead of taken them for granted, show them how much you care and love them while they
are still around. Best wishes to you and your family.

But on the subject of license plates, NYC has to be the #1 city in terms of foreign license plates. I see the most random cars driving in NYC.

On my block there is a Montana, a Utah, a Texas, Illinois a few California and of course Florida. I saw a France plate the other day!

I hope they don't bring that God awful accent here! Also, I never thought of Detroit being located in the middle of cornfields. You might be surprised but Michigan actually has sand dunes and a huge coastline. Look up Silver Lake and Sleeping Bear Dunes (unsure what New York's equivalent place would be)

There is another place called Mackinac Island and Grand Traverse Bay, its kind of like your Coney Island. By the way, the economy here is getting better and better every day. Home prices have soared back up. Michigan will be fine without your help..a lot of things came out of this city without New York's assistance, so I think we can handle it..But thanks for offering.
