Colorado and Washington will be the benchmarks. Starting in January recreational pot will be open for business in Colorado. I was listening to NPRs story on this and if I recall correctly it's going to be taxed something like 30% and expects to bring in close to $70 million in additional revenue. Much of that money will go to schools. If legalization is a success I think we'll see many more states follow.

No, this is more or less accurate. I've seen charts that plot out the comparative harm of different substances and alcohol is always among the most dangerous. It's insane how it gets such a free pass yet has zero positive attributes. Even opiates have a medical application!
