Or there's a "sick customer" inside who upchucked his dinner after a heavy round of boozin'.
Just keep that in mind when you see an empty car and think "lucky me - I don't have to stand up all the way."
Completely empty train, except, one homeless person on one side, puke on the other side, and the heat wasn't on.
Then I witnessed the unimaginable. I saw a businessman (Peacoat, breifcase, suit) walk in, after a few stops of seeing people step in then frantically get out to make it in to another car, walk in, sit down, and then start doing something on his blackberry... for 4 stops!! This guy either enjoys his solidarity and a seat on the subway too much, or just can't smell.
Yeah, and what I can never figure out is why those few people tolerate it huddled in their seat with their shirts up to their mouths even when they have the chance to get off the train. That shirt or hand is not going to protect you from more airborne fecal particulate matter than Rosie O'donnell's backyard after she cannon balls into her septic tank
