Does anyone knows where this house is located? Is it really in Bushwick? And if it is, this surely going to speed up Gentrification in Bushwick for sure! Girls is a Hit show and young people all over the USA and the world follow that show like is 'Sex in the City' or something.
The pictures are priceless, especially the street view of the front of the building with the trash all over the place and the dumpy graffitied tenement on one side and the empty methadone clinic or gospel church/whatever on the other. The whole world will get a good giggle over it.
The most surprising thing is that the building she bought appears to have absolutely no architectural merit whatsoever, inside or out.She just boosted property values all over the city by plunking down a million for that dump.Makes The South Bronx look real good. She could have bought a much nicer building on a much nicer block there for less than half the price.
It is in Bushwick. Located right down the block from the Bushwick PJs.
Thanks! This is an odd ugly location to live in Bushwick. She probably needs to spend 100 thousands more to make that place livable and better looking thought. Maybe the area will be develop and looks much better in 5 years or so?
This is the border between Bushwick and Williamsburg. The house is actually on the Bushwick side of Flushing Avenue.
It's indeed the border of East-Williamsburg and Bushwick and it's on the Bushwick side. Crazy, I knew 2 girls who lived in the red building next door. I've always considered the location 'nasty' and me being a northern-northeastern Brooklynite.
Good grief what a waste of a million bucks! That building is a horrendous fedders style cheap-rehab or even worse new construction with zero curb appeal, distinction, crafstmanship, or architecture!!!!! I am usually one to find the positive, but that building, that block/nabe.....there are no words.
I am wondering whether this home was purchased purely for publicity, or to "prove" or justify something by the actress. I bet this is a publicity stunt for her/the show than somewhere she actually wanted to buy/live. This explains why I keep getting tenants from Bushwick...the horror stories from them are always surprising to me.
Everybody relax, she's not going to live there - these things are investment properties. Chris Rock owns a bunch of townhomes in Brooklyn and rents them all out. Some for as much as $18000/month per apartment in Clinton Hill
