I've tried to find all the information I can, but I just wanted to reconfirm it with you guys. I'm going to be driving a 10' or a 14' Uhaul truck from boston to mid town. In terms of the route to take, I was thinking of sticking to I278, then merging on to I495 and taking the midtown tunnel into the city. Is that a good idea?
Or do you think I should take GWB and then drive locally on one of the avenues till I hit my street?
Probably neither. For one thing, the GWB goes to New Jersey and is not on any route from Boston to Manhattan so forget that.No need to go into Queens and then back into Manhattan through the tunnel either.Probably should take 95 to the Kennedy/Triborough Bridge to the FDR Drive.
you can take 278, bypass the Triboro Bridge onto I 87, take the 3rd Avenue bridge exit and go downtown on one of the avenues. the only thing im uncertain about is do they let U hauls on the 3rd Ave bridge?

no trucks on FDR once across the bridge you need to get on 2nd ave to go downtown
Thanks guys! You have been such a big help! What if I keep going on I95 till I hit I87, then take the 3rd Avenue bridge, get on 2nd avenue and keep driving down till I hit mid town?
Yeah that looks like the best way to get into the city! Thank's guys!
