So since they basically together with different managements. What difference can ya'll tell me about them.Specially about Lillian Wald Houses. Is this still a predominantly Puerto Rican enclave? If not whats the composition of the demographics at this point. Will Avenue D ever get gentrified.Seems like a lack of bussiness on the strip I dont see why no more business is trying rent familly dollar little ceasars etc the hood type businnes popeyes I mean so many is Manhattn after all. And Is there still gangs inside?
Also projects in general have that odd look with them bricks can we turn them into art.? Like paint them with the many talented New Yorkers we can do one by one and make it a tourist attraction Lol for real we can turn that look around why not i think is a new era .And the construction of private residential in the empty spaces inside the pj's is a good idea to bring a mix atmosphere in them..Like why do they have to be isolated to themselves. Anyway any input specially about the Wald Houses will be appreciated
Best that could happen to either or both is what was done elsewhere in the USA. Move residents out, tear the things down and start over again.
That would mean huge profits for the city, tons of tax revenue, ongoing construction jobs, and eventually better neighborhoods. In other words, common sense!

Think it may come to such things sooner or later.
Many of the "projects" were built just after WWII and are starting to run up against their natural lifespans. As with the Markham Homes on Staten Island at some point things become so run down that the investment to maintain said buildings is more than what it would cost to build new.
Campos plaza on ave C is trash to. My first day on the job I was introduced with a pool of thick dark red blood. Read the news that night and some dude was shot in the back of the head.
They are all part of the NYCHA and are all the worst housing projects in the lower east side. I use to work in Lillian Wald btw.
Really but like in What sense Rats? dirrty? gangs?Like the Manhattan standard cant be so terrible I would think. If you would compare say tthe Wald and Riis to Brooklyn or Bx Pjs one of them then would you say is one of the best ones of BK?.And see the thing is they give you a sense of security,(Walden Houses)you dont really see many people out on the corners outside hanging out maybe a few on Avenue D .But the thing is once you INSIDE the buildings if you live or work there then is another story..You at the mercy of whomever you run into, inlcuding the chance of ending trapped if is an elevator with the wrong one cahances of high pressure would increase .Lol ..
